CATIM is a private, non-profit organisation, established in 1986 and officially recognised as a Centre for Technology and Innovation (CTI). With over 700 members, mainly SMEs, CATIM provides technical and scientific support to around 3,500 companies every year. Its mission is to foster innovation, strengthen industrial competitiveness and accelerate the sustainable transformation of the manufacturing ecosystem, particularly within the metalworking and mechanical engineering sectors. To fulfil this mission, CATIM continuously invests in reinforcing its technical and scientific capabilities, upgrading its laboratory infrastructure, and incorporating emerging technologies, methodologies, and industry practices. CATIM’s laboratories are accredited under the EN ISO/IEC 17025 standard for testing and calibration. Through close engagement with companies and sectoral stakeholders, CATIM plays a strategic role in identifying technological and regulatory needs, supporting companies in product and process qualification, regulatory and standards compliance, digital and energy transition, and skills development. By providing tailored support and acting as a bridge between industry, research, and innovation, CATIM contributes to the creation of value, the development of new solutions and the sustainable growth of the industrial sector.
